Rules
Thank you for joining the forum community. By posting on this forum you agree to abide by the following rules:
- Please post your topic once and in the correct category. If you post in the wrong category we'll move it to the correct category, unless you do it often, in which case we'll just delete it. Please do not post the same thing in multiple categories.
- This forum is a place for discussion, not self-promotion. People who come here to talk about DJing, music production, or their favourite records, shouldn't have to put up with posts from promoters or individuals only interesting in plugging their own events, websites, or releases. Therefore, there is a zero-tolerance approach toward people who post about their latest release, event, or other promotion in the wrong forum category. Additionally, we reserve the right to ban and/or delete the posts from any forum member who we feel is using the forum merely as a promotional tool and not contributing to other forum discussions. All posts from new members promoting other sites will be deleted. If you run a site that you would like to let our visitors know about we will probably be happy to do a reciprocal link exchange, so please contact us about this instead of merely trying to spam the forum.
- Which category you should put your post in will usually be self-explanatory from the forum category headings - eg. If you are posting about a new mix you have done, it should go under 'Your Mixes'. We have provided the following guide below to help new forum members in deciding where to post their topics:
- - - - -
Off-Topic:
Only for things that have nothing to do with DJing or music. Football, holidays, computers, girlfriend problems, moustache trimming. This stuff goes in here. We do not, however, want to buy your v1agrA, pENiS Xtension Patch, or watch your Br1tney SEXX video, thank you. There is no place for that kind of post on this forum, not least because all our members are already sexual dynamos with enormous genitals who regularly sleep with attractive celebrities.
Music Discussion:
This is the place to discuss music, such as your favourite records, or artists you love or hate with a passion. It is absolutely NOT the place to tell us about your new release, or to ask for feedback on the track you have just made. For that, you should use the 'New Release' and 'Your Tracks' categories respectively.
DJing:
Here is where you can talk about DJing, from advice on technique and skills, the best and worst gear to use, to the business side of DJing and dealing with labels and agencies.
Music Production:
Posts about all aspects of tracking, mixing, and mastering, including tips for better results and the best gear to use for the task, should go in here. This is NOT the place for showing off your new tracks - for that you should post in 'Your Tracks'.
Your Mixes:
If you want to share a mix with other forum members, then you should put your post in here. We do not provide hosting facilities in which to upload your mix, and we are not responsible for the content or legalities of what music you feature in your mix, so you must sort these aspects out for yourself before offering your mix for others to hear.
Your Tracks:
If you are an unsigned artist who is looking for feedback on a track you have created, this is the place to post about it. If you are, however, an artist signed to a label with a new release, you should post it in 'New Releases' instead.
Your Charts:
Recognizing that many people want to post their weekly or monthly charts, we have created this area for you to do so.
Your Events:
If you have a new club night, website launch, or other event to tell people about then this is the place to do it in.
Radio:
This is the place for you to promote or discuss your internet or regular radio broadcasts.
New Releases:
All posts from promoters, labels, agents, managers, or artists regarding their new releases should be put in this forum category, and NOT in 'Music Discussion' or 'Your Tracks'.
For Sale:
If you have 2nd hand records or DJ gear that you want to sell, you can post the details here and/or link to your auction site/classified ads page for others to see.

- Please do not post entirely in capitals, in bold, in italics, in a large typeface, or any other way that you imagine makes your post more noticeable but actually makes you look like an egocentric, self-serving idiot. If you continually do this you'll be banned from the forum. If you post your topic title in capitals, it will either be edited by admin down to lowercase (if we're feeling generous) or your post will be deleted (if your title is long and we can't be bothered to edit it).
- Please do your best to write in proper English and not text-speak. You don't have to be the best grammarian or speller to post here, but please make an effort when you write.
- No 'bumping' of topics. ie. do not post a reply simply to 'bump' your topic to the top of the forum. Bumped topics will be deleted, so only reply to your own post if you genuinely have something extra to say!
- On other forums you'll often find aggressive people who belittle other forum members, people who bully newcomers, people who swear at others repeatedly, start arguments over nothing, and so on. We don't allow any of that here. If you behave in that way, we'll ban you and remove all your posts.
- Language: we're prepared to tolerate the odd blue word, so long as it's not aggressively targeted at another forum member. For example, it's okay to refer to the Manchester United football team as a shower of bastards, but not the members of this forum. However, please do not put swear words in your topic title - because they appear on the sidebar throughout the site.
- Avatars: please do not use crude or pornographic images as your avatar (an avatar is the image displayed below your forum name). We reserve the right to remove any avatar that we feel is inappropriate. We try not to be too prudish about this, but some other members or guests might be put off visiting the forum (especially whilst at work) if the screen is filled with animated GIFs of bouncing tits. Note that there is also an option to turn off avatars: go to My Controls -> Board Settings -> Do you wish to view members avatars when reading threads? Yes/No.
- Signatures: Signatures on this forum are text-only, so you cannot upload images or use HTML in your signatures. They are, however, a good way to include brief details about your latest events, your myspace page, etc, in a way that allows other members to see what you are up to without filling the forum with promotional spam posts.
- Illegal downloads: we have a zero-tolerance approach to any members who ask for, offer, or even openly advocate the use of illegal software. The same goes for all other types of illegal downloads, such as music, films, and so on. If you do this you will be banned immediately - so don't do it!
