Quality headphones

These headphones are probably the standard that all other DJ headphones have to be compared to. They're very light, and the sound is as clean and balanced as you're likely to hear on a closed-back headphone. Isolation is excellent. The cups do a good job of keeping external noise out whilst still remaining comfortable on your ears. The HD25's feel very solidly-built and hard-wearing, and most of the parts are replaceable; because of the HD25's popularity, spare parts are quite easy to find. Highly recommended.

Great pair of headphones

I have a pair of AKG K701 headphones that I use for production and general listening, so I was eager to try out these new AKG headphones specifically for DJs. As usual, the build quality is excellent. They do feel particularly robust, and can be angled and bent all over the place and still feel solid. The detachable cable is a good touch (why is the flagship K701 cable not detachable?) and as it's a standard mini-XLR it should be easily replaceable if it becomes damaged. The inclusion of the mono switch is very useful, and the bass boost switch might be useful in certain environments, though the headphones have plenty of bass anyway. They are closed-back, of course, and fitted comfortably on my head, so outside noise is kept to a minimum. The ear-cups are leather, and seem hard-wearing. Recommended!
